This current chapter builds on the reputation that J2 Building Services built over the last decade. In 2005 Joe Proud and Jacques Dezarnaulds set out to start a new kind of building company. Both had worked for great builders, on large houses for wealthy clients and were left a little empty. J2 Building Services was created to provide a different kind of building experience.
An easygoing nature, reliability and transparency ensured that clients were happy to christen the BBQ with the team and recommend their work to friends. We got there with an unwavering commitment to quality work and our willingness to stand by our builds long after we hand the keys over.
The drive for a new life
By 2012 with four small children between them- everyone was looking for more space, new adventures and a different challenge. Joe and his family have moved to the Southern Highlands and have established August Developments.
Jacques and his wife Kate have settled on the South Coast of NSW. With family at Mollymook, and the winning combination of green hills, pristine beaches, sensational regional produce and a sense that there was still much to be discovered in the region sold them on life in Berry.
Tom and Judith, J2's First Clients
‘We thoroughly recommend J2 Building Services. They were always friendly, open to suggestions, kept us informed every step of the way and were keen to ensure that their work and materials were of the highest standard. Along with their dogs, Otto and Becks, Jacques and Joe almost became like members of our family during the building process. We were delighted with the finished result.’

On Saturday the 7th September, J2 was awarded the Master Building Awards for new builds for the very competitive $1.5- 2m category for a house designed by Wilkinson award winning architect Steve Koollos of MCK Architects.
J2 has made a habit of being a finalist in these awards over the past few years, but this was the first time that they stepped up to the podium. The Rosebery house was their longest build, most valuable, highly detailed and challenging job- a great finale to this era of work in Sydney.
